How to use the Customer logo-feature

You need a OEM license for the logo-feature. YOu can not add a logo to a Test or Demo license.

Note: You need the following version of Polyscope for Pally to work:

● CB-series: Polyscope version 3.11 or higher.

● E-series: Polyscope version 5.5.1 or higher.

Complete the following steps to use customized logos in the Pally software and the Operator panel.

  1. Upload two files to the root folder on a USB stick.

On a mac OS, the files will be named .png

The maximum allowed sizes for the two images are as follows, depending on which robot type is used.

Robot type: E-series

File name Image type Maximum Image size (width x height) in pixels

oemLogo png (500 x 200)

oemLogoSmall png (300 x 100)

Robot type: CB-series

Robot type: CB-series

File name Image type Maximum Image size (width x height) in pixels

oemLogo png (240 x 120)

oemLogoSmall png (165 x 45)

If the image sizes of the supplied logos are not equal to or smaller than the specified image sizes listed above, then none of the customer logos will be uploaded and used in the Pally URCap. To solve this, resize the logos to satisfy the requirements.

OBS: The USB stick must contain BOTH oemLogo AND oemLogoSmall for it to work.

The recommended sizes for the two logos are as follows, depending on which robot type is used.

Robot type: E-series

File name Image type Image size (width x height) in pixels

oemLogo png (250 x 150)

oemLogoSmall png (150 x 90)

Robot type: CB-series

File name Image type Image size (width x height) in pixels

oemLogo png (200 x 120)

oemLogoSmall png (125 x 75)

  1. Once the Pally URCap is installed, navigate to the Pally URCap in the Installation Node.

2. Navigate to the 'License’-tab in the Pally URCap.This tab will look like image #1 or image #2 below, depending on whether or not the robot has a valid license.

3. Insert the USB stick from step 1 into the teach pendant.

4. Press the 'Load license from USB’-button.

The Pally installation node should look something like this after the 'Load license from USB’-button has been pressed.

5. If the new logos were uploaded successfully, then you may remove the USB-stick from the ro

The 'oemLogo.png' from the USB-stick will be displayed in the 'Overview’ tab

6. Navigate to the 'Pally-Advanced-Operator" and select complete (with POP) in the program node.

Your logo should now replace the pally logo in the Operator Panel.

7.

a. If all the above steps were completed successfully, the supplied logo should load by default each time the robot starts. This means that the above procedure must only be completed once.

To verify this, restart the robot and check that the uploaded logos are

displayed in the installation node and the program node for the Pally URCap. If enabled, the uploaded logo should also be displayed in the Pally Operator Panel.

Note: that the 'oemLogo.png'- and 'oemLogoSmall.png’-files are stored in the GUI-folder on the robot, and there have been cases where this folder has been wiped of all contents in an upgrade of the UR software. If this happens, the procedure above must be completed again.

b. If you repeated the steps above and were unsuccessful in uploading your logo, the most likely cause is that the size (width x height in pixels) of the images is too large according to the tables listed in step 1.

Please verify that the size (i.e. width and height in pixels) of the oemLogo-files on the USB stick do not exceed the values from the tables in step number 1.
